Just as I was stepping out the door of a recent office efficiency evaluation, my friend and colleague asked for some quick help. He was developing a PowerPoint presentation for our common networking group and needed to get dozens of pictures into the presentation from a previous project.
While in his office, I took over the mouse and brought up his list of photos. I clicked on the first photo and then held down SHIFT and clicked on a subsequent photo. It selected the block of files. My colleague stopped me and asked, “What did you just do?” I showed him Click, SHIFT, Click. . . something that we teach in every class and that I personally do dozens of times every day.
My colleague dropped his head and exclaimed that he’d been selecting the files individually and just that one thing would save him tons of time.
I told him “You should’ve called Jump-start sooner.”
